Although we are Organisational Psychologists, we tend to stay away from the word ‘psychologist’. It’s a noun that breeds the fear into even the strongest CEO. Business leaders and owners have the impression we are ‘brain scanning’ and that our occupation is aligned to the ‘dark side’ 🙂
Another word we drop from our vocabulary is, ‘test’ – it’s a word that implies pass or fail. Assessing candidates for employment is all about job fit – not pass or failing.
However, when it comes to sports, psychologists are a critical member of the team. So why not the business team?
